Louise Starbuck
Louise Starbuck is a mature student who has studied at Grantham College since 2009 within the Hair & Beauty department. Louise is due to finish a VTCT Beauty Make Up Services and Level 3 Massage course this year after completing a Level 2 Nail Services course last year. Louise now runs a successful salon in Sleaford which she says is down to the skills and support she has received from her tutors “I have

If you’re 19+ and haven’t got a full Level 2 qualification you may get free tuition if you’re studying on certain Level 2 courses. The available courses carry the “Level 2” (Level 2 Entitlement) symbol in the course guide – please note registration fees still apply.

If you’re aged 19-24 (as of 31 August 2011) and you haven’t got a full Level 3 qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition or a reduced fee on certain Level 3 courses. These courses carry the “Level 3” (Level 3 Entitlement) symbol in the course guide – * please note registration fees still apply.

- Five GCSEs at grades A-C
- GNVQ Intermediate
- BTEC First Diploma
- NVQ2
What is Level 3?
Level 3 is the academic equivalent of:
Level 3 is the academic equivalent of:
- Two or more A Levels
- Access to Higher Education
- BTEC National Certificate
- BTEC National Diploma
- International Baccalaureate
- NVQ3
If you do not have a Level 2 qualification and are enrolling onto a Level 1 course as a “step up” to a full Level 2 you may also be eligible for tuition fee remission.
To confirm eligibility, contact Information, Advice, Guidance and Enrolment or ask when you enrol. You will be required to sign a form to certify that you are eligible for this concession. If you are able to claim another concession (see ‘Reduce your Fees’ on page?) these concessions will still apply but in place of the Level 2 or Level 3 concession.
